We are looking for an experienced Sales professional to take on a new challenge as UK Sales Manager. The role requires a strategic approach alongside the practical skills to successfully implement new initiatives. This post will be based in Marden with the opportunity to work remotely as agreed, and will involve extensive travel within the UK and Europe.
The successful candidate will be responsible for our team of Regional Sales Managers for the UK.  They will be accountable for ensuring the company achieves the required sales, by volume and market, as set out in our annual plan.  Target setting, progress tracking and performance assessment will be essential.
The post holder will help achieve FES sales and after-sales strategies, growing market share by constantly and creatively focusing on new approaches and on value-adding activities.  This will include setting targets for both forecasting and prospect reporting, planning and attendance at marketing events, and oversight of all customer accounts.
The individual will build up knowledge of the product range, the required services and the trends in the market.  They will monitor opportunities in our strategic markets, working with the UK Branch Manager and the Managing Director to create business proposals for realising those opportunities. This will include building a strong working relationship with the After Sales teams to develop and enhance key account relationships.
The successful candidate will be able to generate and present reports on market share, trends and potential changes or growth, as well as build a strong network with business partners, defining targets and formulating KPI's to inform action plans and future developments.
They will motivate staff by providing training, coaching, and development, not only within their own team but across other teams as required.  They will ensure a proactive, energetic and entrepreneurial attitude exists within their team, and will support staff in the achievement of target results, closely monitoring performance whilst enhancing teamwork and cross-divisional collaboration.
Applicants must have demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, with a high level of understanding of the UK market, B2B sales and a background in a related field - heavy industry. They will also be required to have a solid technical background with a high level of educational or business-focussed engineering knowledge.
The role requires a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  They need the ability to analyse issues and identify practicable solutions and translate these into well-substantiated proposals. The ideal candidate will be positive and customer-focussed with a desire to build a highly effective and motivated team, and a desire to build the positive perception of the brand across the UK.
