In April, the Scarab Sweepers team embarked on a momentous journey in the revolutionary electric sweeper, the RAVO E2. The journey, which saw the team travel through all 32 London Boroughs (as well as the local government district of the City of London), totalled more than 180 kilometres. The continuous, 24-hour fundraising event raised over £1800.00 in aid of Shelter UK – a charity dedicated to defending everyone’s right to a safe home.
The journey commenced in Croydon with the team covering the boroughs south of the River Thames, before crossing Chiswick Bridge and heading to the boroughs that make up the western part of the Capital. As the night began to draw in, the journey continued through the eastern boroughs before concluding with the North and Central areas of London. The journey included visits to see customers, as well as some of London’s most recognizable landmarks.
The final stop was the prestigious Guildhall, situated in the heart of the City of London, where the team were greeted by some of the industry’s leading figures ahead of the 2025 Fleet Vision International Show. On arrival at the event, Ann-Marie Knegt, Events Director of Fleet Vision International, “[congratulated] the team at Scarab Sweepers for [a] remarkable achievement of completing One Giant Sweep in the all-electric RAVO E2”.
“This accomplishment highlights a commitment to manufacturing sustainable products that contribute to cleaner air and streets and showcases the power of teamwork in positively impacting society. They have made a genuine difference by raising substantial funds for Shelter, a worthy charity that provides housing assistance to those in need and supports rough sleepers”.
From Croydon to Enfield, Hillingdon to Havering, the team was able to cover every corner of the capital due to the RAVO E2’s incredible battery autonomy. Thanks to the E2’s patented battery swap system, working continuously throughout the night was possible, meaning there was no downtime required for charging.
The occasion concluded at the Fleet Vision Internation Awards ceremony, where the E2 topped off a momentous occasion by collecting the prestigious accolade of Fleet Product of the Year for 2025. The judges certified the product as “a genuine sustainable innovation in the street sweeping sector”.
Speaking on the award win, Scarab’s UK Commercial Manager, Robert Sands comments: “It is fantastic to collect this award for such a game-changing electric vehicle. This accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication that has been put into developing a one-of-a-kind compact sweeper that offers customers a different approach to electrification”.
This accolade joins the Red Dot Design Award(s) (for Product Design and Product Innovation) and the New York Product Design Award Silver Medal that the E2 has won since its launch.
